These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of StoryTelly. By creating an account, downloading the desktop app, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use StoryTelly.
1. Eligibility
StoryTelly is intended for use by parents, guardians, and other adults creating stories for children. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By creating an account you affirm that you are an adult and that any child whose name or likeness you incorporate into a story is your own child or one for whom you have parental consent.
Accounts found to be operated by minors will be terminated and the associated data deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
2. Acceptable Use
By creating an account you agree to use StoryTelly only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms.
You agree not to:
- Submit prompts that are inappropriate for children, sexually explicit, or that depict violence, abuse, or illegal activity.
- Attempt to bypass safety filters or moderation systems.
- Use StoryTelly to generate content that infringes any third party's rights, including intellectual property and privacy rights.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the StoryTelly service.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercialize generated content without our written permission.
3. Content
Content: AI-generated stories are for personal, non-commercial use. Do not submit prompts that are inappropriate for children.
You retain ownership of the stories you create. We retain no rights to the narrative or illustrations beyond what is necessary to deliver the service to you (storage, retrieval, regeneration on demand).
AI-generated content is produced by third-party models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Stability, Replicate, Google, fal.ai). We make no representation that any generated content is original, novel, or non-infringing of any third party's rights. You are responsible for reviewing each story before sharing or printing.
4. Children's Privacy
Children's privacy (COPPA): Child names you enter stay on your device and are never stored on our servers.
Child names typed during story creation are tokenized client-side before any prompt leaves your device. Servers receive only the tokenized form ("[CHILD]"). The plaintext child name is encrypted and stored locally, keyed to your account. Logout does not clear locally-stored names (so re-login on the same device restores them); account deletion does.
For the full data-rights walkthrough — including COPPA, GDPR, and CCPA — see our Privacy Rights page.
5. Account Responsibility
Account: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Two-factor authentication is available and recommended. We will never ask you for your password by email. If you suspect your account has been accessed without authorization, change your password immediately and email [email protected].
6. Subscriptions and Billing
The Free tier is available at no cost and includes the features listed on our pricing page. Premium subscriptions, when launched, will be billed monthly or annually as selected at checkout.
You may cancel a Premium subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain Premium access until then. No refunds for partial billing periods unless required by applicable law.
7. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from your account settings or by emailing [email protected]. Account deletion removes your stories, illustrations, and personal data in accordance with the timelines set out in our Privacy Policy.
We may terminate or suspend your account if you materially breach these Terms, including by submitting prompts that violate our Acceptable Use policy. Material or repeat violations may be reported to law enforcement.
8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
StoryTelly is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that generated content will be free of errors, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that any particular story will be suitable for any specific purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, StoryTelly's aggregate liability arising out of or related to these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim, or one hundred US dollars (USD $100), whichever is greater.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email to the address associated with your account at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
